A wonderful way to connect and collaborate with other classrooms from around the world.

The Earth Day Challenge

Every year, on April 22nd, people from around the world come together to celebrate Earth Day. The goal of Earth Day is to reflect on how our actions impact the world around us, and consider how we can help protect and restore the environment.

To join this global movement, the Empatico team has teamed up with educator Amanda Schaeffer and Book Creator to host the Earth Day Challenge for all students ages 5-18 years old! Students will learn about climate change, create artwork celebrating the planet, and become part of a community that is dedicated to environmental sustainability and stewardship.

This initiative is open to empathetic environmentalists of all ages and levels. Join us in making a difference!!

Climate Change Activities

During the Earth Day Challenge, you and your students will complete activities to learn about climate change and how human activities are contributing to the greenhouse effect, create artwork that celebrates and inspires kindness towards the environment, and design a 22-day calendar with daily actions that help nurture our planet.

Each activity includes an in-class discussion and project ideas, and there are also extension activities that guide you and your students through participating in live exchanges (virtual video calls) and using Book Creator to share artwork with other classes around the world.

The Earth Day Challenge offers a unique opportunity for educators and students to not only deepen their understanding of the issues facing our planet, but also cultivate a sense of responsibility and solidarity by taking action towards a greener, more resilient future.

By joining the Empatico community, educators and their students can foster a shared love for the planet and help make a difference together.
